Beer is great! At the Brit we all love our beer and never more so that on a frosty winters day when we have our feet up by the fire. We always have a core of our favourites available, however, we also like to spice it up. Each week we introduce a guest beer, it gives us something to talk about and an excuse to drink more beer.

Britannia Blonde

Brewed by our sister company Langdale Brewing Company from water taken from 120m below the Langdale Valley. Our best selling beer is made from the finest Marris Otter Maltsand Czech lager Hops, with a hint of citrus. Made for a sunny day in the beer garden... 4.2% ABV

Elterwater Gold

A refreshing golden ale combining Bobec hops from Slovenia with malt from the Scottish borders and Langdale water to create a smooth golden ale. 4.2% ABV

Bluebird Bitter, Coniston Brewing Company

It is, quite simply, a wonderful beer. It is exceedingly pale (21-22 units colour), with just a hint of colour in its cheeks from the dash of crystal malt. It has a massive orange fruit aroma from the challengers, balanced by biscuity malt. 3.6% ABV

Britannia Special

Brewed specially for the Britannia Inn by Conison Brewing Company. The Britannia Special is based on Bluebird XB with added rich barley providing a unique and distinctive flavour that combines two of the great themes of ale brewing to produce something distinctive and new. The fine tradition of English Pale Ale is about quaffing, refreshment and complexity of flavour without alcoholic strength. Then throw in new wave American hop variety Mount Hood with robust citrus aromas and the result is a smooth ale with floral hints, light malt tones and a hoppy freshness. 4.2% ABV
